About This Spot

Walking into Susie's Cuisine Morato, you’re met with a gentle hum of familiarity — a spot that feels patiently awaiting the next visitor who’s eager for comfort and quiet discovery. Nestled in the heart of Quezon City’s lively Tomas Morato area, the space carries that easygoing neighborhood rhythm, neither rushed nor fussy, inviting you to settle in and savor moments that are both simple and quietly rewarding.

The atmosphere here balances warmth with a straightforward honesty. It’s not a place dressed up in flourishes, but instead one where you can sense the years of connection with food and community — a slow unfolding of flavors and stories rather than a hurried performance. The dining area, a few steps below the main parlor, offers a cozy shelter where the clatter of plates and the soft murmur of other diners create a subtle backdrop, encouraging you to lean quietly into your meal or conversation.

What makes the experience of Susie’s Cuisine truly distinct is the embrace of Filipino culinary tradition through a selection of dishes and snacks that feel lovingly familiar yet thoughtfully prepared. This is a place where kakanin — those tender, rice-based sweets and snacks — hold their own alongside heartier plates that speak to home and heritage. The gentle sweetness of desserts like leche flan and tibok-tibok offers a measured delight that pairs naturally with the savory comfort found in dishes like palabok or shrimp okoy. There’s an understated generosity in how the flavors meet you: no rush, no fanfare, just the quiet pleasure of ingredients well cared for.

A thoughtful detail is the adjoining pasalubong shop, where you can carry a piece of this experience home, making the visit not just about a meal, but about connection and sharing. Staff move through the space with a calm attentiveness, overall creating a feel of care that resonates with the flavors on the plate — respectful, straightforward, and welcoming.

If you find yourself wandering through Scout Bayoran along Cor Tomas Morato Avenue, Susie’s Cuisine offers a small yet generous pause; a place to sit, share, and connect quietly with the rich layers of Filipino food culture and everyday moments that make it so enduring.

Came in for a super quick bite and they gave me exactly what I wanted. Yummy palabok, saucy and just the right noodle texture. Place is clean, with a pasalubong shop too. Bathroom is well maintained. Will come back to try more of the menu.

Decent dining for meryenda and kakanin. Limited nmbr of rice plates for full dining looks generous and affordable. We ordered Pancit Palabok and Malabon which are similar except for finer rice noodlesin Palaboks. Baked chicken empanada was large but the pastry seems a bit underbaked and the filling had more of potato with some hard boiled egg s and chicken bits. Tried the okoy papaya which would have been crispy when newly fried but heated in microwave makes it tough, the fried veggie lumpia c was okay again sifting the fate of becoming tough post zapping with microwave and last but not least the fresh lumpia ubod was a large portion and can be a meal by itself. Halo2 was the choice to end lunch merienda-much better mixins vs chowking's but a bit more on the expensive side. The joint is quite spacious with the right wing reserved for chicherias for sale and some limited seating, mid portion was the counter with all sorts of kakanins and where orders are placed and paid. Then the left wing is mostly dining. Ordered food is delivered by wait staff. The service was quick and responsive.

The Palabok and Kalame Duman is good, but the plain Tibok-tibok is great. So far the food is of good quality. For the Pastillas de Leche, it’s no better than what the other brands from Bulacan offer. The wrap misleads you to think the content is of the same size but far from it (see picture).

A whole lot of kakanin, snacks and pasalubong stuff to be found here. They have very good kakanin, fresh and not too sweet. They also serve hot food and cakes. There’s an area a few steps down where dine in can take place. I observed that most customers did take out. Service was efficient and friendly. They had the history of Susie’s Cuisine on the wall, which made for an interesting read. It was a hot day and their AC saved me from melting in the heat. If I’m in the area and craving for kakanin, I will surely drop by again.

Went there on a Sunday. There wasn't much customer. Staff were very respectful and courteous. Service is great. Food is also very good. We ordered palabok...panalo...also yung mochi for take-out, winner din. For drinks we had the mango delychee, kakaiba sya, masarap lalu na kung taken with ice. Will be back for the bibingka and halo-halo. We heard masarap daw

Very nice place with so many delicious meal, merienda, kakanin and dessert options. The first time i went I got the pancit palabok and three kakanin. I think I’ll get just two next time because it was a lot! The kakanin were superb, as well as the palabok. I went back later to get some empanada. They were out of pork and beef that day, so I tried one each of their ham and cheese, chicken, and tuna. I was not disappointed at all. I would definitely get them again. However, the wrapper tasted sweet, not what I expected for a meat pie, but I was okay with it. The service was friendly and my pancit came out quickly. Spacious dining room and relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
